Rajgarh (Madhya Pradesh), August 28 (TNA) Four people, including the driver, were killed and 12 others seriously injured after a sleeper coach bus lost control and crashed into the safety wall of a 90-degree curved bridge in Rajgarh district on Friday morning. The bus, travelling from Kanpur to Indore, was passing through the Biaora bypass bridge when the driver reportedly lost control while negotiating the sharp turn.

According to police, the impact was so severe that the bus scraped along the bridge before crashing into the wall, causing passengers to be thrown off balance. Some passengers fell from the bridge after the collision, while several others were trapped inside the damaged vehicle.

Rescue teams rushed to the spot and shifted the injured to nearby hospitals for treatment. Officials said four of the injured were in critical condition and were referred to Bhopal for advanced care.

Police have said that overspeeding appears to be the prima facie cause of the accident, and further investigation is under way. The tragedy has cast a shadow over the Raksha Bandhan holiday, with many passengers reportedly travelling home for the festival.
