Mumbai, October 19 (TNA) Mumbai Police have formed 15 teams to trace the assailants who allegedly opened fire at actor Tiger Shroff’s car in Juhu on Sunday evening. Shroff escaped unharmed, while his driver and a bystander sustained bullet injuries, officials said.

The shooting took place around 7 pm near Pushpa Narsee Park, where Shroff had reportedly gone to play football. Police said five rounds were fired as the actor’s car was leaving the area, after which the attackers fled on a motorcycle.

Investigators suspect the assailants may have conducted reconnaissance and waited outside the park after tracking the actor’s routine. The motorcycle used in the attack was reportedly abandoned near Andheri West railway station, and CCTV footage has provided images of two suspected shooters.

The actor’s driver, Firdosh, suffered a bullet injury to his left hand, while a person standing near the car was also injured. Both victims were taken to hospital and were reported to be out of danger. A forensic team inspected the crime scene and the vehicle to collect ballistic evidence and determine the exact number of rounds fired. Police are analysing CCTV footage from the surrounding area to reconstruct the attackers’ route and identify all those involved.

No suspect had been arrested at the time of the latest reports, although one person was detained for questioning, according to an early police update. The case may be transferred to the Mumbai Crime Branch as the investigation progresses.

A social media post and audio recording purportedly linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang claimed responsibility for the attack. Police have not verified the authenticity of the claim or established any connection between the gang and the shooting.

Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde visited the Shroff family and said the government would not allow gang warfare to return to Mumbai. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis also spoke to Shroff and directed police to identify and arrest the assailants swiftly.

The Federation of Western India Cine Employees condemned the incident and sought enhanced security for the actor and his family. The firing has also triggered renewed political criticism over law and order in Maharashtra.
