New Delhi, October 23 (TNA) Fans of Punjabi singer Diljit Dosanjh have been dealt a setback after Delhi Police denied permission for his scheduled concert at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium on October 30. The concert was planned as part of Dosanjh’s Aura India Tour and was expected to mark the opening of the India leg of the tour. Police cited specific threat-related inputs, security concerns and the heavy law-and-order deployment required during the ongoing festive season.
Permission denied on security grounds
In a letter dated October 21 addressed to BookMyShow Live Private Limited, the Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) said the organisers’ request had been examined but could not be approved.
The letter referred to “specific threat-related inputs” as well as multiple security and law-and-order responsibilities during the festive season and other prevailing concerns. The police did not provide further details about the nature of the threat inputs.

The decision means the October 30 event cannot be held at the venue in its proposed form unless the organisers secure fresh clearance or announce an alternative arrangement. The organisers have not yet publicly confirmed whether the concert will be postponed, shifted or cancelled.
Date had earlier been changed
The concert was initially scheduled for November 1 but was moved to October 30 following an appeal by the Punjabi Promotion Council. The date change was reportedly linked to sensitivities surrounding the anniversary of the 1984 anti-Sikh riots.
The denial has triggered disappointment among fans who had purchased tickets or made travel plans for the Delhi show. Details regarding refunds, ticket transfers or a possible rescheduled date are expected from the organisers and the ticketing platform.
