Islamabad, August 22 (TNA) Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, the party of jailed former Prime Minister Imran Khan, has filed a contempt petition against government officials, alleging violation of a Supreme Court order on Khan's medical treatment.
The party alleges authorities took Khan to the state-run Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences in Islamabad for a brief check-up instead of transferring him to the private Shifa International Hospital, as directed by the court.
The current Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting said Khan was taken to the state-run hospital due to security risks. The party has sought legal action against senior government officials and demanded that Khan receive treatment at the private hospital named by the court.
