Moscow, August 24 (TNA) India's External Affairs Minister Dr S. Jaishankar co-chaired the meeting of the 27th India-Russia Inter-Governmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific, Technological and Cultural Cooperation (27th IRIGC-TEC) in Moscow with First Deputy Prime Minister of Russia, Denis Manturov.

The discussions focused on wide-ranging cooperation in the areas of trade, investments, energy, fertilisers, nuclear, connectivity, technology, space and mobility. As the economic partnership between India and Russia enters the next phase, Jaishankar underscored the importance of focusing on implementation and outcomes, prioritising sector-specific deliverables and actively engaging in problem-solving.

Besides, Jaishankar also stressed further strengthening engagement with businesses by aligning institutional mechanisms with industry priorities, identifying practical bottlenecks and improving policy responsiveness.

Jaishankar highlighted the importance of constantly updating the view of opportunities and exploring new possibilities. He expressed his confidence that this meeting will go a long way in deepening practical cooperation across a range of domains between the two countries.
