Hyderabad, August 21 (TNA) A young woman was killed after being hit by a speeding Aston Martin in Hyderabad’s Madhapur area, in an incident that has triggered outrage and a police investigation. The accident took place in front of Inorbit Mall, where the victim was crossing the road when the luxury car struck her, police said.
According to officials, the deceased has been identified as Bharati Mukhi, a 26-year-old saleswoman who worked at a store in the mall. She suffered severe head injuries and was taken to Apollo Hospital in Jubilee Hills, where doctors declared her dead on arrival.
Police said the car was allegedly being driven at high speed and in a rash and negligent manner. Cyberabad police have seized the vehicle and registered a case under Section 106(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
The accused has been identified as Lingamaneni Sanjush, 21, the son of businessman and Janasena Party Rajya Sabha MP Lingamaneni Ramesh. Police said he was subjected to alcohol and drug tests, and his blood samples were sent to the forensic laboratory for examination.
Authorities said no arrest has been made so far, as the offence is bailable, but the investigation is continuing. The incident has once again raised concerns over reckless driving and road safety in busy urban areas.
