Sultanpur, October 7 (TNA) Three tennis players were killed and three others injured when an Ertiga car rammed into a truck on the Purvanchal Expressway in Uttar Pradesh’s Sultanpur district early Wednesday morning.
Police said the six players were returning from Lucknow to Deoria after playing a tennis event when the accident took place around 5 am in the Baldirai area.
According to the preliminary investigation, the car was travelling at high speed, and the driver may have fallen asleep, causing the vehicle to collide with the truck from behind. The injured were rushed to hospital, where three were declared dead.
The three injured players were later referred for further treatment, while police continued to investigate the identity of the truck and the exact sequence of events.
