Lucknow, August 27 (TNA) Weather is set to turn wet again in Uttar Pradesh on August 27, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) warning of heavy rain, thunderstorm activity and gusty winds across parts of eastern and central UP. While Purvanchal, Bundelkhand and Madhya Pradesh-adjacent parts of the state are likely to see the strongest rain activity, western UP may remain largely cloudy and increasingly humid.
According to the forecast, districts in Bundelkhand such as Jhansi, Lalitpur, Banda, Chitrakoot, Hamirpur, Mahoba and Jalaun may see intense showers. Rain is also likely over nearby districts including Prayagraj, Kaushambi, Fatehpur, Pratapgarh, Raebareli, Amethi, Sultanpur, Ayodhya, Ambedkar Nagar, Jaunpur, Ghazipur, Chandauli, Varanasi, Mirzapur and Sonbhadra. The IMD’s national outlook also shows heavy rain very likely at isolated places over Uttar Pradesh on August 27.
In western Uttar Pradesh, the weather may stay sticky as rainfall weakens in comparison with the eastern and central belts. The IMD has also flagged thunderstorm and lightning activity in parts of the state, along with strong winds in some areas.
The rain spell could affect travel, daily life, and farm operations in affected districts, so residents have been advised to stay alert. Weather conditions will need close monitoring through the day as the monsoon stays active over north India.
