LUCKNOW || Mainpuri district in Uttar Pradesh as jolted by a double murder on Sunday. Bodies of a 27-year-old man and a young woman were found strangulated in their home at Nagla Vichitra, falling under the Bhogaon police station. Senior police officials including SP Ajay Kumar, additional Sp Madhuban Singh, circle officer (CO) Priyank Jain rushed to the crime scene.
The deceased Sanjiv was working in Gurugram and had come home during the lockdown. His wife passed away a year back. Sources say he was into a relationship with his neighbour Ritu, married to a Gaurav. Her husband Gaurav is since absconding and is the prime suspect.
A dog squad, surveillance and a forensic team have been pressed into service to find more about the crimes. Both bodies have been sent for autopsy and the family of the victims informed of the crime. Sanjeev’s family has named four people in their complaint to the police.
Kids of the deceased woman have apparently told the SP that their father killed their mother and Sanjeev in a fit of rage.
