Deferred Due To CAA Protests, TET Exams In UP Now On Jan 8

LUCKNOW || Dates for the much-awaited Teachers Eligibility Test (TET) have been announced by the UP government, an official informed According to the additional chief secretary (Primary Education) Renuka Kumar, the secondary and higher education departments have given their go-ahead for the TET exam.

This exam will take place on January 8, 2020, at the identified centres.

This exam was scheduled for December 22 but had to be postponed due to violent protests in many parts of the state in wake of the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA). Internet services were also down, leading to the postponement of the exam.

10,83,016 applicants will appear for the primary level and 5,73,322 for the higher primary level, taking the total number of examinees to 16,56,338.
