Congress, SP MLA’s Squat Outside UP Assembly On Day 1 Of Budget Session

LUCKNOW || The first day of the budget session of the Uttar Pradesh state assembly was preceded, on expected lines, by demonstrations by the opposition lawmakers. Just before the House sat on Thursday, legislators of the Congress and Samajwadi Party (SP) protested near the statue of Chaudhary Charan Singh and slammed the BJP for failing to check soaring prices of essential commodities and crime against women.

The Congress Legislature Party (CLP) leader Aradhana Mishra ‘Mona’ squatted on the ground with packets of potato and onion while other members of her party carried placards demanding an immediate end to crimes against women, that they alleged, were shooting through the roof. NRC, CAA and farmers distress were other issues that these lawmakers, egged by the SP legislators, raised.
