Congress Kicks Off ‘Seva Satyagrah’ In UP, Says It Is Not Scared Of Yogi

LUCKNOW || The Uttar Pradesh unit of the Indian National Congress (INC) on Friday kicked off a statewide campaign – Seva Satyagrah, to protest against the detention of its state chief Ajay Kumar ‘Lallu’ in prison. As a silent protest, the Congress will run the ‘Maha Rasoi‘ started by the party leader and feed 25 lakh people.

Party leaders also announced that more than 10 lakh posters will be plastered across cities, towns, villages so that the government headed by Yogi Adityanath is shaken enough to stop vendetta politics against political opponents.

In a press conference, senior party leader Aradhana Mishra ‘Mona’, said that the only crime of Ajay Kumar ‘Lallu’ was that he was trying to help people, specially migrant labourers during the COVID-19 lockdown, by making arrangements for them to go home.

He has sadly been put in jail by the BJP government in the state but they will not be able to quell our commitment to service for the people, downtrodden and the marginalised,” the Congress Legislature Party (CLP) leader in the state assembly said.

Former minister RK Chowdhary said that the state unit of the Congress, led by Lallu, had distributed food to 90 lakh people in the state during the lockdown. The Congress leaders also vowed to continue their service to the poor and said they will not be deterred by the ruthless BJP government which was trying to muzzle the opposition.
