NEW DELHI || The agitations, which are going on in some parts of the country against the Citizenship Amendment Act, are duplicitous, artificial, manufactured and without any roots. It becomes all the more clear because agitators keep on changing their goalposts as per their wish and suitability. Firstly, it was against the CAB, then CAA and thereafter it was made to be against NRC and the latest one is the NPA.
These agitations are not only mischievous but devious and sinister to the core. The real purpose of these agitations is to oppose Modi and Shah by hook and crook. Naturally, these protests are planted and sponsored by the forces which are inimical to India. Obviously, therefore, their strings are being pulled by those who want disruption, unrest and anarchy in the country.
The string-pullers of these protests are not certainly fools, but knaves. They are getting support from the vested interests and Muslim communalists, pseudo-intellectuals and anarchists, who have been enjoying the benefits after independence and partition of India by fishing in the troubled waters. Smugglers and mafia dons are providing material fodder to these agitations.
Why these agitations have erupted only in few universities like Jamia Milia Islamia, J N U, Jadavpur and Aligarh Muslim University and in the Muslim dominated areas? The Jamia Milia Islamia has the strength of three thousand students but the unruly mob of more than twenty-five thousand people assembled to create law and order in the Okhla area of New Delhi.
So, by giving it the name and colour of the student movement is downright dishonesty and prevarication. Any peaceful movement is welcome but agitations turning violent, damaging public and private properties, causing tremendous inconveniences to the people cannot be allowed by any government worth name.
The Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath, therefore, deserves to be congratulated and commended for the tough stand that he has taken in dealing with the goonda elements. It is good that he has decided to recover the damages from the so-called hoodlums and agitators. He very deftly handled the situation in the state, which was provoked and instigated by persons like Akhilesh Yadav, Priyanka Vadra and many others. It will not be out of place to mention here that the conduct of Behan Mayawati during this period was above all reproach. She refused to join the bandwagons of the so-called agitators.
It is a matter of huge satisfaction that, by and large, the people of this country have extended their full support to the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA). Does it not sound strange that when the demonstrations should have been organised against those countries where the minorities are being persecuted, they are being organised in our country so as to prevent the persecuted persons from getting shelter and citizenship?
These protests are nothing but the slap in the face of humanity and that too in the name of protecting the constitution of India. This is a known fact that minorities in Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Pakistan are being persecuted, harassed and victimised day in and day out and yet instead of organising any protest demonstrations outside the embassies of these countries the hoodlums are organizing a protest against the Act, which is going to give citizenship to them in India. This is not only inhuman and cruel but speaks of the insensitivity of the agitators.
It is hoped that the Prime Minister and the Home Minister would not deviate from providing succour to those minorities who have and are leading the wretched life in the tyrannical Islamic countries of Afghanistan, Pakistan and Bangladesh.
