Chairman Of Shia Waqf Board Gives Rs 51k For Ram Temple In Ayodhya

LUCKNOW || In a goodwill gesture aimed at cementing the communal harmony, chairman of the Uttar Pradesh Shia Waqf Board, Waseem Rizvi has given a cheque of Rs 51,000 towards construction of a grand Ram temple at the disputed site, now given to the Ram Lalla by Supreme Court (SC) last week.

In a press statement, Rizvi, who has often earned the ire of his Muslim brothers for siding with the Hindus on the Ayodhya dispute, said the Shia Board supported the construction of the temple.

He added that Lord Ram was the ancestor of all the Indians, including Muslims and that is why it was both imperative and need of the hour that his birth place be respected by all faiths. Rizvi also said that the Supreme Court (SC) verdict on the matter was the only way out to sort the contentious and long-pending imbroglio.
