Lucknow: Universal Booksellers, in collaboration with Sanchit Smriti, will host a literary tribute to celebrate the 110th birth anniversary of Padma Bhushan-awardee Amritlal Nagar, one of Hindi literature's most celebrated novelists. The event, titled "Maanas Ke Amrit Hans," is scheduled for Monday, August 17, 2026, in the city.
The programme will bring together family members and members of the literary community for what organisers are describing as an intimate conversation, or "aatmiya samvaad," centred on the legacy of the late writer.
Nagar's granddaughter, Richa Nagar — a professor, writer and thinker associated with Smith College and the University of Minnesota — will be in conversation with Shakha Bandopadhyay, a specialist in folk media, reflecting on the author's life and enduring literary contribution.
The programme is set to begin at 5:30 pm at Mithai Wala Chauraha, Vivek Khand, Gomti Nagar, Lucknow.
