Lucknow, August 17 (TNA) Lucknow Police conducted a special vehicle-checking campaign from 12 to 16 August, between 5 pm and 8 pm daily, across all five zones of the city, checking 19,643 two- and four-wheelers and taking strict action against traffic violators. During the five-day drive, police issued 5,453 challans and seized 127 vehicles for various violations, including riding without helmets, triple riding, driving without number plates, speeding, using modified silencers, black film on windows, illegal hooters, and drunk driving, among other breaches of traffic rules. Zone-wise, the Central Zone recorded the highest action with 1,192 challans and 71 vehicles seized, followed by the Eastern Zone with 1,323 challans and 29 vehicles seized.
