Lucknow, August 17 (TNA) In a bid to strengthen Uttar Pradesh’s logistics ecosystem, the Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India Limited (DFCCIL) and Invest UP have signed a non-financial Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at boosting freight movement, enhancing multimodal connectivity, and unlocking new investment opportunities across the state.

The MoU was signed by Sandesh Srivastava, Executive Director/Project, DFCCIL, and Vijay Kiran Anand, CEO, Invest UP, in the presence of Deepak Kumar, Infrastructure & Industrial Development Commissioner (IIDC), Government of Uttar Pradesh.

Strengthening Freight and Investment Connectivity

The collaboration will leverage the extensive Dedicated Freight Corridor (DFC) network in Uttar Pradesh to optimise cargo movement and improve multimodal logistics connectivity. DFCCIL will engage with industrial sectors and businesses to facilitate the shift of freight from conventional road transport to the efficient DFC rail network, helping reduce logistics costs and improve first- and last-mile delivery timelines.

Invest UP will highlight these DFC-linked advantages while pitching Uttar Pradesh as a preferred destination for domestic and global companies seeking to establish manufacturing hubs, assembly units and logistics facilities.

Strategic Coordination

Both organisations will nominate nodal officers to drive coordination and implement joint action plans. Invest UP will share relevant regulatory and infrastructure information, including provisions under the UP Industrial Investment and Employment Promotion Policy 2022, UP Warehousing and Logistics Policy 2022, and Gati Shakti Multimodal Cargo Terminal Policy.

Industrial plot indices, GIS mapping and upcoming industrial corridor master plans will be integrated with the PM Gati Shakti Portal for data-driven planning. Regular stakeholder meetings will address investor concerns and ease-of-doing-business challenges. The non-financial MoU, valid for three years, carries no immediate fiscal obligations and aligns with the National Logistics Policy to strengthen Uttar Pradesh’s integrated, competitive and sustainable logistics ecosystem.
