Banks To Remain Closed For 12 Days In August

LUCKNOW || Banking operations have been widely hit during the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic. If that was not enough, banks across the country are set to be closed for 12 days in all in the month of August due to many festivals and holidays.

While on the very first day of August – Saturday the banks will be closed due to Bakreed, Sunday would be the weekly holiday and on August 3 due to Raksha Bandhan, the banks will be closed again. On August 8 the banks will be closed due to second Saturday, 9th August being a Sunday and on August 11, a Tuesday the banks will be closed due to Krishna Janmashtmi.

August 15-Saturday is Independence Day, Sunday, weeks off the next day and on August 21, Friday, the banks will be closed due to Hartalika Teej.

On August 22, the banks will be closed due to Ganesh Chaturthi and on Sunday; August 30 it is the Muslim festival of Moharram. On August 31, the banks will remain closed due to Onam. While some days the bank holidays are local holidays on others they are Gazetted holidays.
