RAMPUR || Senior Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Mohd Azam Khan’s son and legislator Abdullah Azam Khan, will be pedalling from his parliamentary constituency of Rampur to the state capital Lucknow for what he calls “illegal and unfortunate action of the police” against his media in-charge Fasahat Ali Khan. Police have declared Khan a persona non-grata and asked him not to be seen in Rampur for six months.
Azam Khan said that a cycle rally would be taken out by him and his supporters to raise the police victimisation. More than 80 cases have been slapped on the media in-charge of the Rampur Lok Sabha MP in the past few days and Fasahat Ali Khan Shanu has been expelled from the district for the next six months by the police.
On Sunday Azam Khan was closeted with close aides and party workers from his constituency where it was decided that a cycle rally be taken out to express solidarity with Shanu Khan and also protest against the police action. The rally would be received in Lucknow by the SP chief Akhilesh Yadav.
Mohd Azam Khan has also announced that all party workers who are being victimised by the Yogi Adityanath led state government will also be honoured and felicitated.
