Allahabad HC petitioned Over Supply Of Sub-Standard PPE Kits

LUCKNOW || The PMS Officers Welfare Association through its Secretary-General has filed a petition before Lucknow bench of Allahabad High Court as regards the supply of sub-standard PPE kits and other corruption in the UP Medical Supply Corporation Limited.

His counsel Dr Nutan Thakur said that Supply Corporation had been formed for proper supply of medicine and medical equipment to the entire State. In contrast, the Corporation has been in controversies right from its inception.

There have been serious allegations of arbitrary purchase of medicines without taking into account the actual requirements in the fields, widespread corruption in these purchases, collusion between a senior officer of the Corporation and certain select Contractors and no blacklisting of contractors despite the repeated supply of substandard medicines.

As per Nutan, after coming in public of the DG Medical Education letter about sub-standard PPE kits, the doctors of the State are extremely terrified about their safety.

The petition prays for the formation of a high-level committee to ensure an adequate supply of all medical equipment is needed for proper safety of the healthcare workers of the State. It also seeks high-level enquiry in the supply of sub-standard PPE kits and allegations of other corruption in the Corporation.
