Aligarh Police Team Off To Arrest JNU Student For Anti-India Rant

ALIGARH || Taking serious note of the speeches made by a Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) Delhi at the Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) during the anti-CAA protests, the Aligarh Police has registered a case against him, police said. According to police officials, JNU student and organiser of the anti-CAA protests at the Shaheen Bagh in the union capital, Sharjeel Imam made “anti-national statements“.

These statements, as per videos in possession of the police, were made at a speech at AMU on January 16. Aligarh district police chief told media reporters that a police team has been sent to arrest him.

The UP government has made it amply clear that anyone making anti-India statements would not be spared. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has given free hand to the police to take action against people involved in anti-India rant, during these protests.
