LUCKNOW || Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee (UPCC) chief Ajay Kumar Lallu and other senior leaders of the party were arrested by the police on Monday in the state capital as they were going towards the Raj Bhawan, the residence of Governor Anandiben Patel.
Along with Lallu, bureaucrat-turned-politician PL Punia, who is a Rajya Sabha member was also arrested. The Congress leaders were going to the Raj Bhawan as part of a nationwide campaign launched by Congress against the political conspiracy unfolding in Rajasthan, which it says has been let loose by the BJP and of which governor Kalraj Mishra is a part.
Earlier in the day, former union minister and senior Congress leader P Chidambaram said: We sincerely hope Rajasthan Governor will obey the law. He must remember that he has no other masters except the Constitution and law. He added that the governor must immediately grant the request of Council of Ministers & summon a session of Legislative Assembly
