GHAZIABAD || On a day the air quality improved considerably in many parts of the state of Uttar Pradesh, Ghaziabad in the National Capital Region (NCR) choked to very poor air quality.
According to information available, the air quality in the city, neighbouring the union capital of New Delhi, the air quality index indicated that the air in the areas like Vasundhara and Indirapuram was of “severly poor quality”.
Air Quality Index (AQI) in Indirapuram stood at 441 on Tuesday, putting it in ‘severe’ category’. The situation was worse in the Vasundhara area where the Air Quality Index (AQI)was 455, also in ‘severe’ category’.
Experts said while burning of crop stubble in many parts of western Uttar Pradesh was responsible for the hazardous air quality, ongoing construction in many parts of the city was adding to the woes.
