LUCKNOW || After spending 29 days in jail in a case slapped on him by the state’s BJP government, the Uttar Pradesh Congress Chief Ajay Kumar ‘Lallu’ walked out of the prison late on Wednesday. He was received by jubilant Congress workers who raised slogans in his favour and vowed to continue their struggle against the Yogi Adityanath government.
Talking to the media, the UPCC chief said he will continue to fight for the cause of the poor, labourers, downtrodden and the marginalised sections of the society irrespective of the threats that come his way. “I cannot be cowed down by such threats and the jail sentence, I will go to jail not once but a thousand times if needed,” he said, running high on emotions.
Soon after walking out of the district jail at Gosaiganj he drove down to Hazratganj where he garlanded the bust of Mahatma Gandhi. He was earlier given bail by the court in a case pending against him with regards to alleged forgery in the list of vehicles submitted by the Congress while petitioning the state government to allow it to ferry the migrant labourers to their homes.
